A new 3.55 km long road, named after iconic batsman Sachin Tendulkar, has been inaugurated by Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan here.
The four-lane road constructed at a cost of Rs 2.89 crore from the Madhya Pradesh high court's Gwalior bench to Huravli village was named after Tendulkar to mark his historic double century feat in the one-day international.
Tendulkar became the first ever cricketer to score a double century in history of ODI cricket after his amazing innings against South Africa in the second ODI played on February 24 last year in the city.
Chouhan inaugurated the road yesterday on the occasion of Republic Day.
