Sachin Tendulkar cracks 45th Test hundred


Sachin Tendulkar reached yet another milestone on Monday when he completed his 45th Test century as India tightened their grip on the second Test against Bangladesh on Monday.

Tendulkar went into the match having amassed 13,091 runs from 163 Tests at an average of 55.00 with the help of 44 centuries and 54 half centuries.

Tendulkar was dropped on 27 by Raqibul Hasan at gully off seamer Rubel Hossain before reaching his half-century with a firmly driven four off paceman Shahadat Hossain.

He scored his 44th century against Bangladesh in the first Test at Chittagong. Sachin Tendulkar alongwith his partner Rahul Dravid also shared a world record 17th 100-plus partnership during the course of reaching his century.

Tendulkar and Dravid's 100-run partnership for the third wicket came in 25.3 overs and included 10 boundaries.

The Indian pair, who has now 17 100-plus partnerships, went past Australians Matthew Hayden and Ricky Ponting and the West Indian pair of Gordon Greenidge and Desmond Haynes who have 16 such stands.

His record is equally impressive in ODIs with the batting great piling up a record 17,394 runs from 440 One-dayers, averaging 44.60 and including 45 centuries and 93 half centuries.
